The Kansas City Chiefs went in the direction of cornerback in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft on Thursday night in selecting Marcus Peters out of the University of Washington. Many fans including a majority of draft analysts thought a lineman or receiver would be drafted by the Chiefs. However, the pick makes a lot of sense in regard to the team’s recent struggle in getting turnovers. The Chiefs ranked last in the league in interceptions and with two Pro Bowl quarterbacks in the division, this was a smart football move.
What I took away from this pick though was the fact that Cameron Erving, who many consider the best center in the draft, was available when we took Peters.
