ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- Right tackle Mitchell Schwartz's time as the highest-paid offensive lineman for the Kansas City Chiefs is over, about four months after it began.
The contract extension signed by left tackle Eric Fisher will pay him $10.5 million per year over the next six seasons. That eclipses the five-year, $33 million deal Schwartz signed as a free agent in March.
Schwartz wasn’t troubled by this development.
“Everyone is really excited for him," Schwartz said at Chiefs training camp. “It’s a really cool thing. I know from a public perception he’s taken a lot of stuff his first couple of years.
