It hasn’t been a very great week for Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett.
According to a report by NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, Bennett has been fined for $17,363 for hitting Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith in the head and neck area in the Week 2 preseason game.
This doesn’t help Bennett’s case as it pertains to quarterbacks, who were the target of his ridiculous rant earlier this week when the defensive end called some of them mediocre and overpaid.
Bennett also referenced the questionable hit that Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs made on Sam Bradford (that has since been deemed legal):
“Then quarterbacks get protected more than any other player,” Bennett said.
