Linebacker Justin Houston is ever so close to returning to action for the Chiefs.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid said the team will continue to proceed with caution as it plots Houston’s comeback, but Reid has liked what he’s seen from the star outside linebacker in practices.
Houston suffered a knee injury late last season and had his ACL repaired in February. He’ll be activated from the physically-unable-to-perform list by this Wednesday deadline and hasn’t been ruled out of Sunday’s game at Carolina.
“We want to make sure he’s safe going here,” Reid said. “He has pushed through and his work ethic has driven him to this point.
