The NFL has decided that Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif may not put “Dr. Duvernay-Tardif” on the back of his jersey, but that doesn’t mean the NFL’s only active player/physician isn’t getting some attention after getting his medical degree from McGill University during this past offseason.
He will be the subject of a segment on the newest episode of HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, premiering tonight (Tuesday, July 24) at 9:00 p.m. Arrowhead Time, with replays throughout the week.
During the segment, LDT tells Real Sports reporter Andrea Kremer that the challenges of simultaneously being in medical school, playing football (first for McGill, and now for the Chiefs) and learning English were difficult:
I was doing both, full-time, learning English at the same time.
