Per the NFL’s transactions report, first-year quarterback Kyle Shurmur recently went through waivers unclaimed and it didn’t take long for the Kansas City Chiefs to re-sign him to the team’s practice squad.
The Chiefs recently played a bit of carousel at quarterback that led to Shurmur’s ascension onto the active roster and then release onto waivers due to a change in status to a couple players above him in the pecking order.
Patrick Mahomes has been sitting out due to a knee injury (not to mention a sore ankle) which forced the Chiefs to go with Matt Moore as a starter.
