Holding penalty on Fisher was critical, but all three phases sputtered
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Few in the Kansas City locker room late Sunday night could come to grips with a decisive holding penalty called on Eric Fisher.
The flag, thrown on a two-point conversion pass caught by Demetrious Harris in the end zone, wiped out a tie and forced the Chiefs to try again from 12 yards out.
Pass failed.
The magic that fueled so many oddities and delivered Kansas City the AFC West title, as well as a No. 2 seed in the playoffs, eluded the Chiefs on the NFL’s grand stage.
