The Kansas City Chiefs have a lot of us fooled.
On one hand, there are a number of fans and NFL analysts like who believe the team will invest heavily into the running back position in the upcoming NFL draft. These are accentuated by mock drafts featuring a first round pick being used on the position, and visions of great Chiefs running backs of the past are often thrown out to state the difference between what the Chiefs have and what could be.
On the other hand, the rest of Chiefs Kingdom has come to realize that while the current rotational order of things—the committee approach that utilized Damien Williams, Darrel Williams, LeSean McCoy and Darwin Thompson—doesn’t force defenders to stay up at night, it was more than enough to get the job done.
