The Chiefs announced the release of 11 players on Sunday.
The list includes offensive guard Charles Tuaau, receiver Jeret Smith, receiver L’Damian Washington, defensive end Vaughn Martin, cornerback Aaron Hester, long snapper Andrew East, tackle Anthony Dima and receiver Kenny Cook.
The Chiefs also announced the previously reported release of guard Marcus Reed, tight end Adam Schiltz and cornerback Kenneth Penny.
The moves bring the Chiefs’ roster down from 90 to 79. NFL teams are mandated to get their rosters down to 75 by 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid said they like to release players early to give them a chance to latch on somewhere else.
