Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid announced that linebacker Dadi Nicolas returned to practice on Wednesday off of the team’s bye week. The Chiefs selected Nicolas with a sixth-round pick in 2016.
Nicolas ruptured his patellar tendon during the Chiefs’ final game last season against the then-San Diego Chargers. That was 318 days ago, so it has been a long road back for Nicolas.
As in the case of Tamba Hali, Nicolas began the season on the team’s Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.
Now that Nicolas is practicing, this means the Chiefs have three weeks to elevate him to the 53-man roster, or he will be unable to play for the rest of the season.
