On Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs activated running back Kareem Hunt from the practice squad to their active 53-man roster. That cleared the way for Hunt to take the podium for the first time since re-joining the team on Wednesday.
Hunt’s first query from the media in attendance was a predictable one: given the team’s sudden decision to release him in 2018 following his off-the-field incident, did he ever believe it would be possible to return?
“Honestly, no, I didn’t think I’d end up back here,” said Hunt, “but it’s crazy how some things happen to work out.
