The Kansas City Chiefs made a couple of minor moves on Wednesday to clear some roster room as the team gears up for training camp and veterans arrive to practice alongside the rookies.
First, the Chiefs have released tight end Neal Sterling only several weeks after bringing him onto the active roster to compete for a spot behind starter Travis Kelce. The competition there should be wide open, but Sterling was unable to stand out in his brief time on the team.
Sterling was in his second stint with the Chiefs in his career—the first being a short three-week window in which he spent time on the team’s practice squad in 2017.
