Kansas City Chiefs: Top 50 players of all-time

The Kansas City Chiefs are entering their 56th season of professional football. The first 10 campaigns came in the American Football League, after team owner Lamar Hunt founded the upstart league. Hunt wanted to become an owner in the National Football League, but had his hopes dashed. In response, Hunt changed the sport forever.

Kansas City was originally known as the Dallas Texans, spending three years in the Lonestar State. The Texans won the 1962 AFL Championship, beating the Houston Oilers in double overtime. After moving to Kansas City for the 1963 season, the Chiefs won the AFL title in 1966 and 1969, losing Super Bowl I to Vince Lombardi’s Green Bay Packers before winning Super Bowl IV in an upset over the Minnesota Vikings.
