The Kansas City Chiefs signed their last two draft picks on Friday afternoon, inking first-round corner Marcus Peters and third-round corner Steven Nelson, according to a press release from the team. Peters is locked in for four years with a team option on a fifth year, while Nelson has a four-year pact. Both contracts are fully guaranteed.
With both Peters and Nelson signing on the dotted line, the Chiefs have all their rookies locked up heading into rookie minicamp which begins on Saturday, May 16 and concludes Monday, May 18. In these days of the rookie wage scale, there isn’t much drama in whether or not a deal will get done.
