Defensive back Chris Cooper has signed with the Kansas City Chiefs and now occupies a spot on the team’s practice squad.
Cooper entered the National Football League in 2018 as a rookie free agent after going undrafted. The NFL hopeful out of Stony Brook was an intriguing small-school prospect who landed with the Indianapolis Colts immediately after the draft.
Cooper, a 5’11, 200 lb. prospect, profiles as a safety in the NFL and earned a sizeable signing bonus with the Colts when he first landed in Indy. He was later waived with an injury settlement which set him free despite signing an initial three-year deal with the Colts.
