It doesn’t seem that long ago when my dad would tell me every year without fail, “Next year is our year!” It never was. For years, all Chiefs Kingdom wanted was a winning season and then the playoffs, yet ever since the Kansas City Chiefs drafted Patrick Mahomes in 2017, there has only been one result that matters in Kansas City: the Super Bowl.
From an outside perspective, these goals seem lofty, and fan bases can’t expect their team to get to the Super Bowl every year. It’s just not fair, right? Well, tell that to the New England Patriots after they drafted future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady.
