Kansas City Chiefs release CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste

Earlier this offseason, the Kansas City Chiefs transaction wire turned a few heads when a familiar name came up as a new signing. Hidden among several undrafted free agents was former second round pick Stanley Jean-Baptiste, a cornerback who entered the league as a high draft selection with the New Orleans Saints in 2014.

Unfortunately, the comeback for Jean-Baptiste has now come to an official end, at least in Kansas City, as the competition has squeezed him out after K.C.’s recent mandatory player minicamp.

Jean-Baptiste’s appearance with the Chiefs at this point three years after he last played in the NFL could signal a good sign that he could hook on with a team with more of a need in the secondary, perhaps with the Cleveland Browns or San Francisco 49ers or New York Jets.
