KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs lost cornerback DeAndre Baker to a broken left femur during Sunday's 38-21 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Baker was activated off the practice squad Saturday. With the Chiefs resting their top three cornerbacks against the Chargers after clinching the AFC's No. 1 playoff seed, Baker started and was having a big game with a sack, five tackles and a pass broken up before the injury.
He was taken from the field on a stretcher in the third quarter.
"My heart goes out to the kid,'' coach Andy Reid said.
