The Kansas City Chiefs held a local pro day for 19 area players on Friday, an event ran by every NFL team that involves players who either grew up in the area or attended a local college. For the Chiefs front office, it’s an additional chance outside of the NFL Combine, college pro days and the 30 allowed individual visits to get a final look at a number of prospects to alter draft boards ever so slightly in various directions before the 2017 NFL Draft, to be held at the end of April.
For players, the ability to stand out one more time with such a small crowd around and with an entire front office and coaching staff looking on is a significant opportunity.
