KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs say they placed outside linebackers coach Britt Reid on administrative leave following last week's three-car accident that left a 5-year-old girl in critical condition.
A source told ESPN's Adam Schefter that Reid was actually placed on leave Friday -- the day after the crash -- and that his contract expired following Sunday's game, meaning he's no longer an employee of the team.
"We remain in the process of gathering information on the incident, and we will continue to assist local authorities as requested,'' the Chiefs said in a statement.
