Early in the Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, wide receiver Justin Watson sustained what was initially feared to be a serious foot injury.
Fortunately, the veteran wideout was back on the field in a matter of days. After sitting out the team’s first preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Watson recorded a 20-yard reception from Patrick Mahomes during Saturday’s matchup with the Detroit Lions.
Watson appreciates what vice president of sports medicine and performance Rick Burkholder and his staff did to bring him back.
