The Kansas City Chiefs have signed rookie linebacker Breeland Speaks, the team announced via its official Twitter account Thursday afternoon.
The Chiefs selected Speaks, 22, in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft with the No. 46 overall pick. Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said he made the selection because he wanted to leave the draft with “someone who could affect the passer.”
The Chiefs think they have that in Speaks.
“I love his effort,” Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said of Speaks after day three of Chiefs OTAs Thursday. “He’s got some natural ability.
