It’s not that John Dorsey doesn’t believe they’re not talented. Clearly that’s not the case at the rate that the team is checking out the quarterback options. It’s just that the Kansas City Chiefs general manager doesn’t necessarily believe any of the quarterbacks available are ready to start from day one.
That’s bad news for teams like the Chicago Bears, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns or any other number of franchises who have poor choices before them on the depth chart for Week 1 of the upcoming season. Many of those teams are likely to pass on a quarterback early for this very reason—that no one is quite ready yet.
