Veteran linebacker Sam Barrington, who suited up for the Kansas City Chiefs last season, is hoping to find a new permanent home with the upcoming young defense of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Barrington came to Kansas City in the middle of last season to help the Chiefs fill out the middle after veteran Josh Mauga went down with a season-ending injury. The Chiefs needed serious help in the middle after having released Ramik Wilson and then the loss of Mauga. Fortunately, they retained Wilson on the practice squad and he experienced a second half surge in development that likely secured his roster spot for 2017 as well.
