Patrick Mahomes literally left Philip Rivers speechless.
With 9:09 left in the first quarter of the Chiefs’ 29-28 loss to the Chargers, Mahomes and the Kansas City offense faced second and goal from the six-yard line. He took the snap and drifted to his right, nearly running out of bounds. Mahomes pump-faked the ball toward the sideline as if to throw it away before he turned his hips and fired a throw across his body to wideout DeMarcus Robinson for the game’s opening score.
NFL Network cameras caught Rivers on the sideline with his mouth hanging open after he watched the play unfold before muttering something under his breath.
