Former Chiefs safety Kendrick Lewis released by Baltimore Ravens

Kendrick Lewis should be a familiar name to Kansas City Chiefs fans after watching him start 50 games in his first four NFL seasons at safety. At this point in his career, Lewis is largely a back-up defensive back and one who is now searching for a new team after the Baltimore Ravens decided to release the veteran on Tuesday.

This season was the first that Lewis was not the starting safety in a team’s base defense, and he was cut along with cornerback Shareece Wright. The Ravens have future moves to make in the secondary after releasing both players, but there’s plenty of time for Baltimore to address depth on the roster.
