For Chiefs to beat Steelers, their best players need to be their best players

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- In last year’s divisional round playoff game, the most important contest for the Kansas City Chiefs in a dozen years, their most productive offensive players were a pair of wide receivers, Jason Avant and Albert Wilson.

Avant is now out of the league and Wilson is a backup for the Chiefs, so it’s little wonder that Kansas City lost that day to the New England Patriots.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs received next to nothing from their better offensive players. Tight end Travis Kelce and wide receiver Jeremy Maclin each had 23 receiving yards while running back Spencer Ware didn’t play on offense because of a sprained ankle.
