In last February’s Super Bowl LVIII, the Kansas City Chiefs’ defensive game plan called for its secondary to use man coverage to disrupt the timing of the San Francisco 49ers’ offense. In cornerbacks L’Jarius Sneed and Trent McDuffie, Kansas City had players who could take away the easy throwing windows the 49ers had generated all season, forcing tight window throws and disrupting the offense’s flow.
When the two teams met again on Sunday, I wanted to see if the Chiefs could do the same thing without Sneed, who was traded to the Tennessee Titans in the offseason.
