According to a report from the Associated Press, Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca will soon be replacing its synthetic field with a natural grass field. This will virtually guarantee that this season’s Week 11 game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers will be played there.
As you’ll recall, field conditions at Estadio Azteca were a problem last season.
After the field had been reported to be damaged following what the NFL called “a difficult rainy season and a heavy multi-event calendar of events,” last season’s Week 11 NFL International game between the Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams was moved to the Los Angeles Coliseum less than a week before the game.
