Eric Berry’s mom hosts event to raise cancer awareness

Carol Berry, the mother of Chiefs safety Eric Berry, hosted a meet and greet at the Country Club Plaza to help raise cancer awareness and money for her son's non-profit.

The event was held for four hours Thursday at St. John Boutique, but 10 percent of all sales through Sunday will go to the Eric Berry Foundation, which serves Kansas City, Atlanta and Knoxville and has hosted annual football camps, backpack giveaways and holiday events the last few years.

“(We're trying) to get the word out about lymphoma, cancer,” Carol said.

Eric Berry, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma last November, conquered the illness in eight months.
