It was merely nine months ago when Chiefs safety Eric Berry was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He had to miss the last five games of the 2014 season to focus on his health.
Fast forward to training camp in late July. The Chiefs announced that Berry is clear to practice and arrived in St. Joseph, Mo. for training camp the day after. He spent the past three weeks preparing for his first game back. Being on the field was simply the highlight during Saturday’s 34-19 win against the Arizona Cardinals.
“Just the smell of the grass, the crowd, the food, I was just taking everything in,” Berry said.
