KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Because he so often competed against him when they were high school quarterbacks in the Atlanta area, Eric Berry has followed Cam Newton's career through college and the NFL.
It wasn't necessary for him to do so. Berry, now a safety for the Kansas City Chiefs, gets regular updates on Newton from back home.
"Even if I don't keep an eye on his career I'm going to hear about it because home is home," Berry said. "It's like a big family down there. We all just pull for each other.
