Eighth practice day: Juan Thornhill back in team drills

After conducting a training camp session in front of 2,000 season-ticket holders in Arrowhead Stadium the day before, the Kansas City Chiefs ran Sunday’s practice in the familiar surroundings of the team’s facility on the grounds of the Truman Sports Complex.

The Chiefs said that safety Juan Thornhill — who has been working with trainers on the sidelines since he was removed from the team’s physically-unable-to-perform (PUP) list on Wednesday — participated in seven-on-seven drills with his teammates. That’s welcome news for the second-year player who suffered an ACL injury in Week 17 of last season.
