The NFL recently announced a one-game suspension for Kansas City Chiefs tight end Demetrius Harris. It’s a punishment levied due to an arrest from nearly 15 months ago on felony possession of marijuana charges.
Missing a single game, even due to a suspension, normally wouldn’t affect starting players, but backups like Harris are always facing incredible competition for reps. This year, the Chiefs have brought in fresh competition for the tight end slots behind Travis Kelce, including veterans Tim Wright and Jace Amaro. It’s another year, another slate of competitors for Harris, who has done well to stave off such hopefuls year after year.
