Given his experience and skill set, Dan Sorensen was projecting to start opposite Eric Berry in the Kansas City Chiefs secondary in Week 1 against the L.A. Chargers. Now he’s going to be struggling to even returning to form by then with word that he suffered a significant knee injury in training camp on Tuesday.
Sorensen had been favored in camp at the free safety slot so far in camp as the Chiefs really lack other potential candidates. Eric Murray has yet to step up and claim an opportunity given him. Robert Golden was largely signed for special teams and depth packages.
