On Friday, the Kansas City Chiefs announced the signing of C.J. Spiller, a veteran running back who has played previously for the Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints, among others.
The move for Spiller gives the Chiefs a bit more crowded backfield as they attempt to sift out the best options for the final 53-man roster. For a veteran like Spiller who has bounced around a few teams, it will be an uphill climb to make the final roster, but crazier things have happened before. Just two seasons ago, Joe McKnight was a veteran running back with the New York Jets coming off of a serious injury and hoping to make his mark once again.
