Chiefs' Bob Sutton on Marcus Peters: Don't want to break spirit he has

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Bob Sutton, the veteran defensive coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs, has seen his share of volatile players like cornerback Marcus Peters. Eventually, Sutton said, they all come around and learn to channel their energy toward playing instead of engaging in extracurricular activities like squabbling with fans, officials and opponents.

As evidence, he pointed to former linebacker Bart Scott, a volatile player in his early seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. Sutton, as an assistant with the New York Jets, coached Scott later in his career.
