INDIANAPOLIS -- Just as they had to replace Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson and the other top running backs they’ve had, the Kansas City Chiefs will eventually have to find a permanent substitute for Jamaal Charles.
That time isn’t now. General manager John Dorsey made that clear at the NFL combine, where he repeated his comments from the end of last season that the Chiefs are planning to have Charles be their featured back in 2016, even as he continues his rehab from a torn ACL.
“He’s been an important piece of this organization in the past and he will be an important piece moving forward," Dorsey said of Charles, the Chiefs’ all-time leading rusher.
