Outside linebackers Tamba Hali, Dee Ford and Frank Zombo were part of a playing rotation on Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.
Ford, who saw 54 snaps and had the Chiefs’ lone sack, and Zombo, with 50 snaps, started. Hali played 42 snaps.
Hali had missed training camp and the preseason games after undergoing offseason knee surgery.
“I wanted to see how he came out of this,” Reid said. “He had enough reps in there, even in base situations. He wanted to get in there. It was killing him to stand there and watch. I thought for the most part he did a pretty good job.
