Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes played just four snaps against the San Francisco 49ers — but Mahomes was back to his typical workload as training camp continued in St. Joseph on Monday, accumulating the lion’s share of plays in the practice.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is being careful with his former MVP quarterback, always balancing Mahomes’ health with the reps needed to be ready for regular-season play.
“I think it’s a mix because health is obviously important — but getting used to those new guys he’s dealing with, I think is also important,” said Reid.
