LONDON -- I arrived overseas to the news that the Kansas City Chiefs made the trip to London for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions without three players, including starting left guard Ben Grubbs. He has a neck injury that prevented him from practicing this week.
That means the Chiefs will start their fifth different offensive line combination in Sunday's game, their eighth of the season. Zach Fulton, recently benched as the starting right guard, is the logical choice to replace Grubbs, who started the first seven games.
This isn't good news for the Chiefs. Their offensive line had its best game of the season last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers after they inserted two new starters and moved Eric Fisher to left tackle.
