The Kansas City Chiefs guaranteed Eric Fisher will be their left tackle for at least the next two seasons when they exercised their option for a fifth season on the contract he signed as the first overall pick in the 2013 draft.
Had the Chiefs not exercised the option, Fisher would have become a free agent at the end of the 2016 season.
Fisher has yet to establish himself as a player who deserved to be the No. 1 pick in a draft. Coming out of Central Michigan, Fisher found the attention of being the top pick -- and the transition to NFL competition -- to be difficult.
