Although the Kansas City Chiefs boast the game’s best tight end in transcendent star Travis Kelce, the position may see some turnover for the coming season.
The Chiefs brought in reinforcements behind the 34-year-old Kelce by signing veteran Irv Smith Jr. in free agency and using a fourth-round draft selection on former TCU standout Jared Wiley.
Speaking after Thursday’s organized team activity (OTA) session, Chiefs tight ends coach Tom Melvin expressed optimism about what he is seeing from the new additions but refused to make predictions for roles at this point in the offseason.
