The Kansas City Chiefs’ practice (and open media) scheduled for Thursday has been canceled due to a medical emergency that occurred at the club’s practice facility.
All that is known right now is that the medical emergency involved one of Kansas City’s backup defensive linemen, and doctors and trainers responded quickly to the incident.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero added some context, noting that the lineman had a seizure in a special teams meeting and went into cardiac arrest. The player is now in stable condition at a local hospital.
The Chiefs were due to participate in their ninth of 10 organized team activities (OTA) practices on Thursday, wrapping up on Friday.
