According to a report from NFL insider Adam Caplan, on Wednesday afternoon — shortly after the beginning of the official free agency period — the Kansas City Chiefs tendered restricted free agent safety Jordan Lucas at the sixth-round level.
That means that if another team makes an offer to Lucas, the Chiefs have the right to match the offer or take a sixth-round draft pick in compensation.
As you may recall, the Chiefs gave a seventh-round pick to the Miami Dolphins to acquire Lucas last August as they sought to shore up their secondary after a disastrous preseason in the defensive backfield.
