Chiefs’ starting center Mitch Morse is done for the season

The Chiefs placed starting center Mitch Morse on injured reserve Friday due to a foot injury, the club announced, ending his 2017 season.

Cornerback Keith Reaser has been elevated from the practice squad to take Morse’s spot on the 53-man roster.

Morse, 25, had his third professional season derailed by the injury, which he suffered during the Chiefs’ win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2.

Morse missed the next five games before returning to face Denver on Oct. 30. He started four more games after that but continued battling the injury before he was carted off in the Chiefs’ 38-31 loss to the New York Jets on Dec.
