KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Here is a breakdown of the first week of free agency for the Kansas City Chiefs:
Most significant signing: The Chiefs will plug Bennie Logan into their defensive line as the likely replacement for longtime nose tackle Dontari Poe. The Chiefs need Logan to be a solid run-defender in the middle of their defensive line on first and second downs. Poe also played on most passing downs, but the Chiefs won’t necessarily use Logan in that role. In Chris Jones and Allen Bailey, the Chiefs have a couple of middle pass-rushers with whom they’re comfortable.
