The Kansas City Chiefs have signed right tackle Jah Reid to a three-year contract extension, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Reid was signed on the eve of Week 1 and has started in eight games this season, filling in admirably for both Donald Stephenson and Jeff Allen. The financial terms of the deal are unknown at this time.
Reid is likely being signed to play in a depth role for the Chiefs. While Pro Football Focus ranks him as the fifth-worst offensive tackle in the game, I would disagree with fervor. Reid has not been great, but considering the quality of pass-rushers he has faced, and the revolving door at right guard, I feel Reid has done a nice job.
