The Chiefs needed some beef along the offensive line to compete at guard, and they got that with University of Cincinnati guard Parker Ehinger.
He was a 14-game starter at Cincinnati in 2015 and at 6-foot-6 and 310 pounds, is certainly large enough to anchor the position. This was a position of need for general manager John Dorsey, and spending a foruth-round pick on it is considerable.
Kansas City is currently looking at a guard situation of Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and Jah Reid as starters with only Zach Fulton as a legitimate backup. Should Eric Fisher or Mitch Schwartz get hurt, the Chiefs would have to kick Reid outside and suddenly the team would be in all kinds of trouble.
