Chiefs select KeiVarae Russell in third round

Kansas City finally made its second pick of the night after trading with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, selecting KeiVarae Russell out of Notre Dame with the 74th-overall pick. The Chiefs went with defensive tackle Chris Jones out of Mississippi State in the second round, a 6-foot-6, 310-pound beast who should rotate with Jaye Howard and Allen Bailey.

As for Russell, he will come in and immediately compete to start alongside Marcus Peters and Phillip Gaines. According to NFL analyst Mike Mayock, the 5-foot-11, 192-pound corner can play inside and out, and also can give you some versatility as a safety.
